I’m Kristi, a professional fine artist and the founder of Every Day May.
In 2022, I had strayed from my usual painting practice. I yearned to return to my studio and that desire led me to develop a personal painting challenge in May. As I shared my idea with creative friends, they too were inspired to join, and a small group began creating alongside me. Thus, Every Day May was born.
I believe that creativity is essential to every human's well-being; we need it to thrive. However, we often prioritize other aspects of our lives over creative pursuits. But creativity demands expression. The most effective way to change this is by taking action and committing to show up consistently.
My hope for Every Day May is to inspire creatives from all walks of life, empowering them to feel brave enough to not only begin their artistic journey but to continue showing up, day after day.

Every Day May is a month-long challenge where we come together on Instagram to prioritize our creativity each day in May. The goal of Every Day May is to encourage creatives from all walks of life, empowering them to feel brave enough to not only begin their artistic journey but to continue showing up, day after day. With amazing giveaways and initiatives all month, this challenge aims to promote goal setting, accountability, and build a supportive community to celebrate our unique creative journeys.

HOW DO I JOIN EVERY DAY MAY?

STEP 1
Sign up for the Every Day May email list here. You’ll receive an e-mail welcoming you to the challenge that contains any discount codes from our sponsors. You’ll also receive a second e-mail with more details on how you can participate!
STEP 2
Create an introduction post on Instagram. You can share your creative goals for the month of May, or just share your process. What will you be working on throughout May? Tailor this to your unique creative needs and make sure it is a sustainable goal.
Don't forget to tag me @coastalinkstudios and use the hashtag #everydaymay25 in your post so we can see your beautiful work. By completing step 1 and step 2, you will be entered into the challenge and grand finale giveaway.
Join the challenge ANY time throughout May.
STEP 3 (additional entries)
We encourage participants to share their creative progress throughout the month on Instagram and to engage with others participating in the challenge — this additional participation will be counted as extra entries into our grand finale giveaway!
Get extra giveaway entries by:
Posting your daily progress and creations on Instagram. Each post or story with #everydaymay25 and a tag to @coastalinkstudios counts as ONE entry. Entries are unlimited!
Each additional post and story counts as an additional entry into the grand finale giveaway. All entries throughout the month will be entered into the grand finale giveaway at the end of the challenge. Additional entries are unlimited!
You do not need to participate every day. You may participate as much, or as little as you would like. You get to set your goals + pace in this challenge. We are here to support and encourage you in your goals, so make it work for you.

Who Can join every day may?
Every Day May is an inclusive challenge for creatives of all types and skill levels. Whether you're a painter, photographer, videographer, writer, poet, chef, baker, ceramicist, sculptor, or any other creative spirit, this invitation is for you. Professionals, hobbyists, and beginners alike are all welcome to participate and find encouragement in their creative pursuits.
Do I need to make something every day?
No! You do not need to create every day — you are welcome to participate as much or as little as you would like throughout the month.
Above all else, this challenge is about creating consistency in your creative practice. As long as you are working towards your unique goals, that is what is most important.
How do I Qualify for the giveaways?
In order to be eligible for the giveaways, make sure you are following me on Instagram @coastalinkstudios, are signed up to the challenge, have shared your introduction post, and are following our giveaway sponsors. Each additional Instagram post and Instagram story will count as an additional entry to the grand finale giveaway. Just be sure to tag me @coastalinkstudios and use the hashtag #everydaymay25 in your posts and Instagram stories, otherwise they will not be counted.
Can I join after the challenge begins?
Yes! Participants can join at any point throughout the entire month of May.
